Arrey Elementary held its fifth annual spelling bee on Tuesday January 13th. 24 students in grades 1-5 participated. Fifth grader Jayla Davis is the school champion. Her winning word was "lurches". Jayla will represent Arrey ES in the regional competition. She will participate in an online semifinal in order to determine eligibility for the in-person competition in El Paso. The winner of the El Paso bee will represent our region at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May of 2026.
Isaiah Hernandez (grade 4), Santi Villa (grade 5), and Jaeda Davis (grade 5) all tied for 4th place.
