TCES/ SEC held its fifth annual spelling bee on Thursday January 15th. 45 students in grades 1-5 participated. Fifth grader Samuel Ibe is the school champion. His winning word was "whittled". Samuel will represent TCES/ SEC in the regional competition. He will participate in an online semi final in order to determine eligibility for the in person competition in El Paso. The winner of the El Paso bee will represent our region at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May of 2026. This is the fifth year that Samuel has been the school champion.
Adalaide Magpotoc (grade 4) and Iain Tolley tied for 3rd place.
